Lepidolite - International Crystals Encyclopedia https://www.atlantisinstitute.org/

Origin - the place or situation from which something comes, the beginning of something’s existence, the point from which it starts out, the thing from which it is ultimately derived.
Lepidolite is a member of the Mica Group whch is a sheet (phyllosilicate) mineral occuring in metamorphic, igneous and sedimentary deposits. This particular type of Mica contains lithium.

The stone also occurs in some high temperature quartz veins, granites and greisens as well as pegmatites.

All crystals belong to a different group according to the basis of the relationships of their axes. There are 7 systems and 32 classes of symmetry. Lepidolite crystals belong to the Monoclinic system.

History - the past considered as a whole, the whole series of past events connected with someone or sometihing, a continuous typically chronological record of importance.
Discovery took place in the 18th Century when at the time it was known by the name lilalite. Scientists later changed the name to lepidolite which was derived from the Greek term ‘lepidos’ which means scale and was due to the stones scaly appearance.

The mineral is an important source of lithium which is used, as a light metal, in batteries and domestic appliances among other items.

Significant sources of lepidolite are found in Russia, Brazil, US Germany, Canada among other locations.

Specification - the act of describing or identifying something precisely, a detailed description of the design and materials used to make something.
Lepidolite has an uneven fracture with a vitreous to pearly luster. It is transparent to transluscent with a perfect cleavage. It is a soft mineral with a Mohs Scale rating of 2.5-3.

Lepidolite has a scaly appearance due to the containment of lithium flakes which is sourced from the mineral and used in items such as batteries and airplane parts.

Varieties - a number or range of things of the same general class that are different or distinct in character or quality.
Lepidolite is a distinct mineral. Associated minerals to Lepidolite includes but is not limited to:

  • Beryl
  • Topaz
  • Cassiterite
  • Columbite
  • Tourmaline
  • Feldspar
  • Quartz

Esoteric Attributes - a quality or feature as characteristic of or possed by something.
Crystals by their very nature are able to receive and focus energy in different ways. Their molecular structure enables them to be used to amplify and convert energy and hence crystals have been used for centuries to aid healing and transmute energy both in the metaphysical and physical world.

Because each crystal family has different formational backgrounds, each also has different vibrational frequencies that can be harnesed and used for specific purposes. Each therefore have specific qualities that can be used to help a person heal on the many different levels of their being.

The following is a list of healing attributes associated with Lepidolite crystals.

Mental: Lepidolite enhances total concentration in aspects of importance. It enables one to break free from distraction.

Emotional: Lepidolite facilitates strong sleeping patterns and aids sleep disorders. It brings inner peace and provides protection against external influences.

Physical: Lepidolite is an aid to relief of joint pain, neuralgia, nerves and sciatica.
