Moldavite - International Crystals Encyclopedia https://www.atlantisinstitute.org/

Origin - the place or situation from which something comes, the beginning of something’s existence, the point from which it starts out, the thing from which it is ultimately derived.
Moldavite is an extremely rare glass that is said to be formed from a meteorite impact and is classed as a tektite type. Tektite is described as a natural glass formed from terrestrial debris that are ejected during extra terrestrial impacts.

Much debate has developed over the origin of Moldavite however the general concensus is that it was formed over 14,700,000 years ago as a result of a giant meteorite impact in what is known as Nordlinger Ries in the present day. It is said the volumes of liquid formed through the melting process on impact that solidified through cooling whilst still in the air. The pieces are found in sedimentary masses and tertiary masses within a scattered area, mostly in Bohemia.

Although Agate crystals are often found in volcanic rocks they can also be found in many other rocks including metamorphic rocks.

All crystals belong to a different group according to the basis of the relationships of their axes. There are 7 systems and 32 classes of symmetry. Moldavite crystals are amphorphous.

History - the past considered as a whole, the whole series of past events connected with someone or sometihing, a continuous typically chronological record of importance.
Moldavite was shown to the scientific public in 1786 at a lecture by Professor Joseph Mayer of Prague University who termed it as a type of chrysollite.

It was termed as Moldavite in 1836, named for the town of Moldauthein in Bohemia (Czech Republic)  where the first pieces were found to have originated.

Mythical legends say that it was a spiritual talisman of protection and fortune and it has been linked to the holy grail.

It is estimated that there are only 275 tonnes available at source around the world. High quality Moldavite is used widely for ornamentation and carved jewellery.

Specification - the act of describing or identifying something precisely, a detailed description of the design and materials used to make something.
Moldavite is a part of the Amorphous crystal system and is highly uncommon. It is transluscent when held up to the light and has a natural depth of green hue.

Unpolished stones that are found at source often appear with beautifully etched patterns and carvings due to the weathering and oftimes water erosion in streams and other water settlements.

The mineral measures 5-6 on the Mohs scale rating of hardness.

Varieties - a number or range of things of the same general class that are different or distinct in character or quality.
Moldavite is a rare mineral that is mainly sourced from one location spread with no related varieties.

Esoteric Attributes - a quality or feature as characteristic of or possed by something.
Crystals by their very nature are able to receive and focus energy in different ways. Their molecular structure enables them to be used to amplify and convert energy and hence crystals have been used for centuries to aid healing and transmute energy both in the metaphysical and physical world.

Because each crystal family has different formational backgrounds, each also has different vibrational frequencies that can be harnesed and used for specific purposes. Each therefore have specific qualities that can be used to help a person heal on the many different levels of their being.

The following is a list of healing attributes associated with Moldavite crystals.

Mental: Moldavite is a strong mineral in the promotion of the recognition of the spiritual origin within. It also dissipates the attention given to strong vices.

Emotional: Moldavite strengthens and promotes vivid memory and dreams. It widens expansive limitations and provides freedom.

Physical: Moldavite is an aid to anaemia and flu and also helps with respiratory tract diseases.
