Terms and conditions of enrolment, learning with us, exams and course duration and use of our website www.AtlantisInstitute.org
David Ellis is the course author and operator of The Atlantis Institute and this website. Please read our terms carefully.
David Ellis may revise and update these terms and conditions at any time, so please visit this page periodically to review the text, as it is binding on you. "You" and "User" are used throughout the text concerning all individuals and/or entities accessing this website for any purpose or reason.
COURSES
2.1. Enrolment
When you enrol with us, you must follow and abide by the rules outlined below. You agree to purchase the specified Course with the full intention of completing the Course within the timeframe allowed.
On enrolment, you are provided with your login and password details to access the first module of your Course.
2.1a. Communication
Communication is key to the success of any relationship. Good manners alone would suggest that when an email is sent to you as a student, you would reply to that email, using the appropriate salutation and grammar. Therefore, during our time together, should I email you, have the professional ethic to respond.
2.2. Learning with us
As a student of the Atlantis Institute, you will be provided with a space within our website where you can download your Course material. All Course material is in PDF format and you accept this media of the material.
From time to time, Videos, Audios and Articles may be uploaded to your study space at the discretion of the Course Director.
2.3. Exams
After one month of receipt of your Course material, you can request your Exam paper, sometimes, the Course Director will post your Exam paper to your study space without request. You must complete the module Exam before moving on to the next module. This ensures you are ready for the next part of the Course.
Plagiarism - "The practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own". This dishonest, dishonourable and disrespectful practice will NOT be tolerated. All exam papers are run through a plagiarism detection program and if plagiarism is detected, the institute will expel the student without redress, refund or discussion.
You are encouraged to expand on your knowledge by researching the subject matter to enhance your knowledge. However, the exam paper is designed to test your knowledge of the module being examined. it is imperative to read and fully understand the module before expanding your knowledge on the subject matter. Please read the module and learn.
You can not copy another author's work and paste it unedited, unchanged, directly into your exam paper as your answer, whether you cite the author or not. The exam is designed to test your knowledge of the module in question.
Where you research and use that research in your paper, the literature should be cited within the text of your paper and in the literature cited section at the end. You should NOT cite a paper by including the article's title within your paper's text. You can cite within the text using the citation-sequence or citation-name systems.
AI Chatbots - The use of AI Chatbots is forbidden. The purpose of an exam is to establish the learning outcome. Using artificial intelligence to answer the questions is not only counterproductive to your learning but also dishonest and dishonourable, as the work is not yours. It is not Plagiarism, but it Is a form of cheating. if AI is detected, the institute will expel the student without redress, refund or discussion.
2.4. Course Duration
Where it states that the Course will take 1 / 4 / 8 or 12 months, you must apply yourself to complete each module within six weeks of receipt. For example, if you enrol for a Course on the 1st of January 2022. In that case, your module exam will be due on or about the 14th of February 2022. On receipt of your exam, time must be allowed for the tutor to read and score the paper, and thereafter, the next module can be released.
If the course aims to be completed in 8 months, then you have that period of time to complete the Course. However, we will always allow two weeks per month grace on each Course. Therefore, when the time frame is 1 month, the extended time is a total of 6 weeks. When the time frame is 4 months, the extended total time frame is 6 months. When the time frame is 8 months, the extended total time frame is 12 months. When the time frame is 12 months, the extended total time frame is 18 months., The Atlantis Institute will always allow an additional time when requested.
Should you have personal problems and require a longer period, you can apply to the course director at info@atlantisinstitute.org explain your situation and request an extension.
If you do not make contact and extend the course duration (for example, you sign up to the course and don’t do anything with it for four months or you are mid-way through the course and become busy and leave it for four months). The Atlantis Institute will no longer be able to allow you to complete the course, and no refund shall be offered or given.
It is the student's responsibility to ensure that they can complete the course within the timeframe allowed.
